Lee County sheriff’s deputies have arrested two people after they were found unconscious and apparently suffering from drug overdoses with a child in the home.

Deputies responded around 3 p.m. Friday to an apartment at 2417 Jefferson Davis Highway after an air conditioning repairman called 911 and said he’d knocked on the door and saw two people unconscious inside after a child answered.

Deputies said they administered NARCAN to Heather Paige Dostroph, 32, of that address, and Eddie Michael Bird, 41, of 6831 Jefferson Davis Highway. Both awoke, and Dostroph was taken to Central Carolina Hospital for treatment. Bird refused further treatment at the scene, but was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant.

Additionally, deputies searched the home and found two grams of fentanyl and  six grams ofcrystal methamphetamine.

Dostroph was discharged from CCH around 9 p.m. the same day, at which point deputies charged her with possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin/fentanyl, possession with intent to sell and deliver crystal methamphetamine, maintaining a dwelling for the storage and sale of drugs, and one misdemeanor child abuse.

Dostroph remains in the Lee County Jail under $11,500 secured bond; Bird remains jailed under $12,500 secured bond.
