Lee County sheriff’s deputies have arrested a man in connection with a non-fatal shooting in western Lee County.

Tyjon Philandus Snipes, 21, of Lee County faces a charge of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

According to deputies, Bris Covington, 26, of Erwin, arrived at the Central Carolina Hospital emergency room around 6 a.m. Sunday suffering from a gunshot wound. Covington told authorities he had been shot while at a home on Variety Lane, which is off Steel Bridge Road in the Pocket community.

After interviewing Covington, deputies executed a search warrant at 110 Variety Lane and arrested Snipes. He was placed in the Lee County Jail without bond.
