Wampus Cat Music Fest, a three day outdoor concert event set for May 13-15 at Gross Farms II just over the Lee-Harnett county line near Broadway, will be headlined on the rock stage by Everclear, a band from Portland, Oregon which found widespread success in the mid and late 1990s with singles such as “Father of Mine” and “Santa Monica.

The booking was announced in a Facebook video on Monday.

Wampus Cat is a joint event between Indie On Air, the organizers behind downtown Sanford’s successful Carolina Indie Fest back in September 2021, and Gross Farms. It is described as a “three day immersive festival experience” with live music from over 90 acts across three stages designated “rock,” “country” and “indie.”

Several artists, including J.R. Richards (formerly of the band Dishwalla), Carolina Indie Fest headliners Paleface, and locals the Cliff Wheeler Band, have already been announced.

The event will include “camping, food, drum circles, costume contests and so much more,” according to its website.
