A woman is in custody after allegedly discharging a gun in the parking lot of Lee County High School on Tuesday evening, Sanford police said.
Marie Shavone Debrow, 37, of Courtland Drive in Sanford is charged with assault by pointing a gun, felony possession of a firearm on school property, felony discharging a firearm on school property, and discharging a firearm in the city limits.
According to police, officers responded around 7:40 p.m. Tuesday to a complaint about Debrow pointing a gun at another woman in the parking lot of the school at 1708 Nash St. in Sanford. Police said Debrow also fired the gun, although it was unclear from the report whether Debrow fired the gun at the other woman or what the women were doing in the school’s parking lot at the time. Police indicated that Debrow and the other woman in the case know one another.
Debrow was placed in the Lee County Jail under $16,000 secured bond.
