Lee County sheriff’s deputies on Thursday arrested four people – including two jail inmates and an employee of the jail’s food service provider – in connection with an alleged plot to smuggle methamphetamine and marijuana into the Lee County Jail.

Maria Luisa Nambo, who deputies said was an employee of Aramark, the jail’s food service provider, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession of controlled substances on jail premises, conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine, conspiracy to deliver marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was placed in the Lee County Jail under $20,000 secured bond.

Hazel Brianna Russell, 27, of Sanford, was charged with conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine and conspiracy to deliver marijuana. She was placed in the Lee County Jail under $15,000 secured bond.

Matthew Rashaud Jamell Green, 30, of Sanford, was charged with conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine and conspiracy to deliver marijuana. Green, who had originally been booked into the jail in 2022 on motor vehicle larceny charges, had $15,000 added to his initial bond of $30,000.

Michael Sesar Fiscal, 35, of Sanford, was charged with conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine and conspiracy to deliver marijuana. Fiscal, who had originally been booked into the jail on probation violation charges in December, had $15,000 added to his initial bond, which was not listed on the Lee County Jail website.

The incident marks the second time since the start of 2023 that deputies have disrupted plans to bring drugs into the jail. Six people were arrested in January on similar charges.
