After dropping two games in a row the weekend of June 10 and 11, the Sanford Spinners won five straight games through Sunday.

The Spinners lost road games to the Oak City Gliders (20-4) on June 10 and the Reidsville Luckies (18-7) on June 11, but bounced back with a 3-2 home win over the Hendersonville Honeycrisps on June 13. They followed that up with a 9-5 win over the non-league Carolina Ducks at home on June 14 and a 15-5 victory over the Gliders at home on June 15.

Over the weekend, the Spinners tacked on two more road wins over the Hushpuppies (9-0) on Saturday and the Luckies (11-9) on Sunday. The five consecutive wins put the Spinners at 10-4, a game ahead of the Sandhills Bogeys (12-6) in the collegiate level Old North State League’s Central Division.

A Spinners home game scheduled for Monday against the non-league Greensboro Yardgoats was canceled due to concerns about weather, but the Spinners will be back at Tramway Park adjacent to Southern Lee High School for back to back games against the league-leading Honeycrisps (currently 15-5 in the ONSL’s Western Division) at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.

Tickets are $8 for general admission and $4 for kids, and can be purchased through the team’s website or on gameday.
