The Sanford-based nonprofit, Let’s Do It Together, will produce a full day of DEI discussions and presentations as part of its mission to implement methods of equity and diversity for all in the community.
Local nonprofit group Let’s Do It Together Foundation will hold its second annual D.E.I. Conference on March 20 at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic & Conference Center in Sanford. The event is a major annual program for the organization.
Attendees will take in a series of presentations, panels and discussions “designed to better incorporate diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace, employment and social settings” according to event organizers. This year’s theme is Building Connections That Create Belonging.
On-site registration begins at 8 a.m., and the conference starts at 8:30 and runs until 3:30 p.m. The conference will include a range of subject matter experts from the corporate world, social justice professions, government and academia. Keynote speaker will be Curtis Hill, who’ll speak on Creating a Culture of Belonging.

“Our first annual DEI conference had well over 100 attendees,” said Jeanette Peace, the organization’s community coordinator and advocate. “Human resource professionals, business owners and operators, non-profit organizations, government agencies, employees and entrepreneurs were are well represented, and the dialogue among our participants was outstanding. With the exceptional lineup of presenters this year, I have no doubt that we will experience a similar result.”
Visit www.LetsDoItTogether.info for the agenda and presenter information. Admission is $99 ($69 for students with proof of enrollment). The conference includes breakfast and lunch. Professional development credits are available to all attendees.

What is DEI?
Blessings and love, Darlene P~
Diversity, equity, and inclusion (usually abbreviated DEI) are organizational frameworks which seek to promote “the fair treatment and full participation of all people”, particularly groups “who have historically been underrepresented or subject to discrimination” on the basis of identity or disability.
Basically it drops merit and equal opportunity for “equal outcomes”. Think affirmative action but on steroids. If you’re white or asian, it’s bad news for job opportunities and college applications.
It’s a bunch of bull…life isn’t fair, ask my Grandmother, came over from Ireland.
While watching X-22 on Rumble.com I heard a different version of what DEI means…
Didn’t Earn It! Perfect
DEI is a waste of time. This is not progress.
The title of this article should really be “Foundation to host a gathering of Race Mongers”
Affirmative Action and similar programs have been in effect for at least the last 50 years. Blacks already enjoy preferential treatment in every facet of American life especially in industry, academia and government. What more can be done for this low intelligent, criminally innate, violent race of people? You can only blame racism so many times.
It takes less time to just say you’re racist you know?
