Two people were killed Friday when an airplane that took off from the Raleigh Executive Jetport in Sanford crashed in Harnett County, according to a social media post from the airport.
“A small aircraft based at Raleigh Exec crashed this morning in Harnett County,” the post reads. “Two experienced pilots were on board and, according to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, neither survived the impact. No more information can be provided at this time. The FAA has been notified and, as they do with all incidents, will investigate the circumstances. We will fully cooperate with investigators and we extend our heartfelt condolences to family and friends.”
WRAL reported that the plane came down on the property of NC Wake Boats on Holly Springs Church Road near Broadway.
