After a tough start to the season, the Sanford Spinners improved their overall record to 8-7 after going 6-2 over their last eight games.

That streak puts the Spinners in second place of the collegiate summer level Old North State League’s Piedmont Division, with an 8-5 conference record. The Raleigh Red Oaks lead the division at 9-5.

The hot streak started on June 17, with an 8-6 road victory over the Wake Forest Fungo, followed by an 8-3 home victory the next day over the Lexingon Flying Pigs at Tramway Park adjacent to Southern Lee High School. The streak continued on Thursday, with an 11-8 home victory over the Danville Dairy Daddies, on Friday with an 8-6 home win over the Red Oaks, and 3-2 and 15-5 road wins during a Saturday double header on the road against the Dairy Daddies. The Spinners dropped a road game against Raleigh 8-7 on Sunday.

The Spinners close out the first half of the 2025 season with a Monday night away game against Lexington and a home game on Tuesday against the High Point Hushpuppies.

The team then gets a five day break before a June 30 road game against Wake Forest. July kicks off with two more home games against Wake Forest on July 1 and 2.

All home games are played at Tramway Park and start at 7 p.m. View the full schedule here.
