The Sanford-Lee County Planning Department’s Technical Review Committee will consider a proposal later this month for a multi-tenant commercial building in Tramway that would, if approved, include a Starbucks store.
The 9,833 square foot proposal would also include a dental office and have space for two other unspecified tenants.
The building would sit at the intersection of Tramway Road and U.S. 1, between the existing CVS and Bojangles locations.
The TRC is comprised of local officials from various city and county government entities and meets monthly to review commercial projects and major subdivisions for compliance with the codes and policies of various local departments. TRC approval of a project – or even submission of a proposal for consideration – is not a concrete indicator that the project will happen; the TRC only looks at whether proposals meet city, county and state requirements.
Also on the TRC agenda for July are two housing subdivision proposals, one on Steel Bridge Road and one on Carthage Street. Both proposals have been before the TRC in the past – one is being reviewed again because its preliminary plat has expired; the other is getting a second look because the land in question has since been rezoned.
