Harnett County’s growth has been impressive the last few years. Recent census data showed the county ranked No. 1 in the U.S. for population gains out of more than hundreds of counties considered “micropolitan areas.”
This economic news should only help.
The county announced today that a groundbreaking ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday for a $47 million, 1.5 million-square-foot Rooms To Go regional distribution center in Dunn. The facility, which will open in 2015, will bring approximately 220 new jobs to the region along with 100 independent contract trucking jobs. The facility will also include a 20,000 square foot retail store.
The ceremony will include N.C. Transportation Secretary Tony Tata and Rooms To Go President Steve Buckley, plus very happy officials from the City of Dunn and Harnett County. The ceremony will be held at the Rooms To Go site off I-95, Exit 75 at Jonesboro Road and the aptly named Rooms To Go Way.
No word on whether or not Sofia Vergara will be on hand. If so, we’re there.
