Tobacco Road Golf Course was rated the No. 2 course in Lee County by Sanford Herald readers earlier this month … its consolation prize was handed down by PGA.com readers today.
Sanford’s very own was named the best golf course in North Carolina on PGA.com’s “Quick 9” series. It beat out the legendary Pinehurst No. 2 (site of two U.S. Opens this summer), all other Pinehurst courses, Nags Head Golf Links, Tots Hill in Asheboro and, well, everybody else.
PGA.com wrote: “Based on your answers, there’s no doubt about it — Tobacco Road is the hands down No. 1 course on the list of best places anyone can play in North Carolina. In 2009, Golf World called it the No. 4 best public course in the U.S.
If you’re in this area, you love golf and you haven’t played Tobacco Road, do it. It’s unlike any other golf experience you’ve ever had, and it’s affordable considering its accolades. Learn more at tobaccoroadgolf.com
