Duke Energy will make a presentation at 5 p.m. today to the city of Sanford’s environmental affairs board about its plans to dump millions of tons of coal ash in Lee County. The meeting will happen at Sanford City Hall.
In terms of news and excitement, committees like Sanford’s EAB are sometimes considered backwaters – they don’t traditionally get much media coverage, and they’re not typically recorded or particularly well-attended.
So given the passionate response in opposition to Duke’s plans, both from citizens and from local governments, it may be worth your time to see what Duke officials have to say about their plans in that particular setting.
WISH THEY HAD NOTIFED ME. I WOULD HAVE BEEN GLAD TO PUT IT ON THE NEWS AND PSA’S
