Sanford-born and Lillington-raised pro golfer Chip Lynn has qualified for at least eight starts on the 2018 Web.com Tour after a strong showing over the weekend in Q-school at the Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler, Arizona.
Lynn, 29, finished in the top 20 after a four-day total of 17-under-par 271.
The Web.com Tour is a developmental tour a level beneath the prestigious PGA Tour. If Lynn manages a top 25 finish in 2018 season money, he could reach the highest level of professional golf.
Lynn’s PGA Tour website profile lists him as a Fayetteville State University grad who went pro in 2009 and has earned just north of $37,000 for his career, winning the 2013 Southern Open.
