Lee County government announced a fourth Coronavirus case Wednesday afternoon.

The positive result came from a private provider, according to Lee County spokesperson Jamie Brown. So far, the Lee County Health Department has tested 24 individuals, with 22 negative results and two pending. The other positive cases have all come from private providers, who are only required to provide testing numbers if they come back positive.

This has been a confusing week for Lee County’s Coronavirus numbers. On Tuesday, the state Department of Health and Human Services reported a fourth case, but it was later learned that that person owns property in Lee County but lives in another state and hasn’t been in the area recently. Wednesday, NCDHHS reported a fifth case that county officials said was an error.

Of Lee County’s Coronavirus cases, one has recovered and returned to normal activity, while the others are being monitored.

Names and any identifying details of individuals testing positive aren’t provided, although the Health Department does conduct a tracing process to determine who those individuals may have come into contact with.
