A Sanford man is facing multiple charges related to an alleged hit and run accident that left another man dead on Saturday.
Brandon DeWayne Bridges, 38, of Fayetteville is charged with felony death by motor vehicle, felony hit and run, and driving while impaired, Sanford police said.
According to a press release, officers responded to the intersection of North Horner Boulevard and Carthage Street around 5:30 p.m. Saturday and found 44-year-old Lance Grames in the roadway suffering from serious injuries. EMS arrived and tried to render aid, but Grames was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses told police that Grames was struck by a black pickup truck heading north on Horner Boulevard, which then fled the scene. A Sanford PD press release indicates Bridges was operating the truck, but didn’t say how officers were able to identify him. Bridges was taken into custody around 9:15 p.m. at 213 Linden Ave.
He was placed in the Lee County Jail under $150,000 secured bond.
The speed limit there is like 30mph. This guy must have been traveling 60+ for this to happen. 😔
Lance was one of my close friends they need to put him under the jail to leave a good man to die on the side of the road after he hit him with his vehicle and drove off
Lance was a great guy. I’m going to miss him. Throw this trash out. He was a career felon dirt bag that belongs in the worst the North Carolina penal system has to offer. No excuses here for running someone down and taking off. On the other hand, the Sanford police has been phenomenal, compassionate and extremely professional. Hug your loved ones.
the law releases these people time and time again, for a reason – JOB SECURITY —— since they commit more felonies, then law has an excuse to stay in business. without this kind, they are unemployed
How in the world does this murderer get out less than 6 months after???? He killed the love of my life… and drove off. Sad to know you can pay your way out of killing my daughters role model
