“This has been a trying few days for the department as we have had three COVID-related deaths reported over the past two days,” said Lee County Health Director Heath Cain. “We offer our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the individual who has passed away and ask the public to join us in keeping them in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.  We also want to remind the public that COVID-19 is real; this is a highly contagious virus that has the potential to cause serious health complications for individuals infected.  Our best line of defense is practicing preventative measures like wearing a mask in public, watching your distance to remain 6 feet or more away from others, and washing hands thoroughly and frequently.”
