The Sandhills Bogeys dealt the Sanford Spinners their second loss of the season in a 4-3 game in Pinehurst on Tuesday.

The Spinners, now 6-2 on the 2022 season, got contributions at the plate from outfielder/second baseman Gage Bibey, who had three singles and one RBI, and third baseman Kaden Sigmon, who had two hits, an RBI, and scored a run.

On the mound, pitcher Justin Sczcypinski gave up four runs on three hits in 1.2 innings.

The Bogeys are the only team to beat the Spinners so far in 2022, having won 8-6 at a game in Pinehurst on Sunday. The Spinners defeated the Bogeys 9-4 in the opening game of the season.

The Spinners, a collegiate level summer league team in the North Carolina-based Old North State League, return home to Tramway Park next to Southern Lee High School for 7 p.m. home games against the Brunswick Surfin’ Turfs on Wednesday and the Fayetteville Chutes on Friday. Admission is $8 for adults and $4 for children.
